Jim is a seasoned entrepreneur and experienced financial advisor, dedicated to helping clients pursue lasting financial success through a deep understanding of financial history and market dynamics. Since 2003, he has leveraged this expertise to provide insightful, strategic guidance that empowers individuals and families to build resilient financial foundations and make well-informed decisions aligned with their most important personal and financial objectives.
After having the experience of growing up living across the country Jim chose to make the Valley of the Sun his home after graduating from the Barrett Honors College at Arizona State University with a degree from the W.P. Carey School of Business. Prior to co-founding Blakely Walters Wealth Management with Sloan in 2009, he gained six years of experience as a financial advisor at a prominent national firm.
Jim is passionate about spreading financial knowledge and literacy and has served on non-profit organizations in this capacity as well as lead and taught many classes pro-bono including to his alma mater ASU Barrett Honors College and his local church.
Jim and his wife, who have been together since their high school days, share the busy schedule of driving their three boys to soccer tournaments and track meets. When they’re not on the road, Jim enjoys many activities including wake surfing, snowboarding, skiing, hiking, and camping, making the most of every opportunity to spend quality time with his family and the outdoors.
