An entrepreneur at heart, Jim has always been interested in making and managing money. Since 2003, he has been working full time as a professional financial advisor and he views his career as a lifelong mission to help as many people increase their financial literacy as possible. By focusing on building financial knowledge, strength, and longevity, clients are empowered to make wise decisions that help them attain their most significant lifetime goals.
Although not an Arizona native, Jim decided to lay roots in the Valley of the Sun after attending the Barrett Honors College at Arizona State University where he graduated from the W.P. Carey School of Business. After college, Jim worked for a larger financial planning firm as an advisor for six years before founding Blakely Walters with Sloan in 2009.
Jim is a member of Phoenix Art Museum’s Men’s Art Council, volunteers serving youth and as a financial committee member for his church. An outdoors-man at heart, he enjoys kayaking, snowboarding, hiking, camping, and almost any activity that allows him to be with his wife and three sons in nature.
